Maxine Colm, Ed.D.
Maxine Colm has spent her professional life as an administrator in public higher education. For twenty-three years she held senior positions at the University of Delaware;-as associate provost for faculty personnel, director of the associate in arts program and for 21 years as vice president for administration. As vice president, she was responsible for establishing and implementing personnel policies and procedures for the University’s 4000 employees including classification and compensation, benefits, payroll, affirmative action and diversity policies and labor relations, contract negotiations and grievance processing.
Prior to coming to Delaware, Dr. Colm served for 7 years as deputy provost for academic affairs at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J.and for 4 years as Director of Personnel Policies for the Chancellor of Higher Education in Trenton, N.J.
She earned the Ed.D in Higher Education Administration from the University of Delaware, M.Ed from Rutgers and the B.A. from Vassar College, summa cum laude. Her voluntary positions include Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Camden County College, Blackwood, N.J.; Member of the N.J. Board of Higher Education, Member of the Board of Directors, United Way of Delaware (current); member Library Associates Board, University of Delaware (current).
