Dr. Myers is an Associate Attending Surgeon and serves as Director of the Glaucoma Fellowship at Wills Eye Institute. He earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in chemistry at Princeton University. After his residency in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Institute, he did a fellowship in Glaucoma at Duke University.
Dr. Myers’ primary focus is clinical care. His central tenet is that each patient should determine, with the help of their physician, what is in their best interest among the available treatments. Dr. Myers has been a selected as a Philadelphia Magazine Top Doc in 2010, 2011, and 2012, and a U.S. News & World Report Best Physician in 2011 and 2012.
Dr. Myers is also active in clinical research, and has published more than 40 peer reviewed journal articles. His interest in clinical education has led to his involvement as Director of the Glaucoma Fellowship, and he has published more than 10 book chapter and given hundreds of lectures in more than 10 countries. He has participated in numerous surgical trials and multicenter studies of glaucoma. Key areas of interest are new surgical techniques and visual field testing.
